    Thursday October 8 to Sunday October 11, 2015 – LiterASIAN Festival is back!  The 3rd annual Asian Canadian literary festival celebrates the best of Pacific Rim Asian Canadian literary talent.   LiterASIAN 2015 features readings, workshops, panel discussions and book launches. Featuring some of the Asian Canadian writing’s most innovative and creative writers in fantasy, science, and speculative fiction, history, and poetry, LiterASIAN is for literary enthusiasts, publishers, literary agents, and anyone interested in writing.  This year’s line-up includes:

    • Workshops with our featured authors
    • Opening dinner gala
    • AlliterAsian anthology launch
    • Panels with industry experts and writers

    Explore, Discover, Create

    Explore the forgotten spaces and buried histories of Vancouver’s Chinatown. Discover the cultural currents that connect you to Chinatown past and present.Learn how to create story boards, craft an engaging story, record voiceovers, and perform basic audio editing to produce your own digital Chinatown story.

    Underwater Chinatown: Digital Stories is a series of artist-facilitated community digital storytelling workshops focused on unearthing alternative histories of Vancouver’s Chinatown.

    This program is co-presented by Chinese Cultural Centre of Greater Vancouver and Cinevolution Media Arts Society.

        • Workshops will be conducted in English.
        • Workshops are free and open to the public. Registration is required as space is limited.
        • Participants must register for all five workshops.

    Please Note: A refundable $30 equipment deposit is due at the first workshop onSeptember 26 and will be refunded to the participant at the end of the last workshop.

    Hosted by the Sound of Dragon Society, Taiwan’s Little Giant Chinese Chamber Orchestra (gCO) is returning to Vancouver to collaborate with local musicians and ensembles to give 3 concerts and 1 workshop, performing different programs every night, exploring different musical styles. Working simultaneously with Vancouver’s best in classical, contemporary, traditional, and avant-garde music, these well-trained musicians from Taiwan display such versatility and virtuosity, under the leadership of their conductor Chih-Sheng Chen.
